I eventually learnt to just ignore the "Whole Item" fields and look for FLAC or SHORTEN columns in the "Audio Files" table.

For my PC I use a free utility called Free Download Manager. Open an archive page that contains a list of FLAC or SHORTEN files (these are the compressed but lossless formats). If you've installed FDM on your PC, it responds to a mouse right-click with a box that includes a line "Download all with FDM". You then get options to filter out the non-lossless files, set download location etc.

Once downloaded, most CD burning software handles FLAC format OK. For SHORTEN files, I get Winamp to convert them to a CD format before running the burner.

The "Stream VBRM3U" option at top left gives you convenient access via a player like Winamp to high quality (but not lossless) audio files.

Thanks for the reply.
I am on a Mac (OSX Lion). Are you aware of a download manager that works with the Mac?

Sorry, but I know nothing about Macs. I strongly suspect that Free Download Manager is available in an Apple format; the only other thing would be that Macs have something instead of the right-mouse click function for "context-sensitive" stuff.

It's past my bedtime so I can't be any more help till Sunday! All the best ...
